Feedback from the most recent Beyond Consequences Online Parenting Class graduates:
“It took this class for me to understand the essence of what it takes.
My daughter is adopted with a trauma history and this class made an
incredible difference in our relationship.
“I still have to practice more but at least I know where to go when I
need help that actually makes a difference.”

“I learned a lot, and will continue to strive to implement the techniques.
I am learning how to remain calm and regulated when stress levels increase.
I am also more aware of “triggers”. I have been trying to be less critical and
more accepting of my daughter’s behavior.
My daughter has is also finding acceptable ways to stay regulated. I am
seeing gradual changes in my feedback as I press on to change the dynamics
of our family relationships.”

“This class has taught me how to relax and stay focused on my son, rather
than on his behavior. Although I did not have a traumatic history, I have to recognize
that he did, and I cannot change that, only my response to him.
Although he can still try to “push my buttons”, I find that if I just breathe
and relax and stay in the moment with him, these episodes are becoming
fewer. He is still not able to convey to me how he is feeling or why he does
what he does, but hopefully in time, he will be able to do that in a regulated moment.”

“My family is more connected and I find that I have the emotional regulation
to not be so “busy” all the time, but to devote my time to the kids. I am able
to help them express their emotions in safe ways, and not just send them
away when they are experiencing emotions and need my help. Even trimming
the tree, which has been chaotic and has ended in meltdowns, went well this
year and was enjoyable by all. We will continue to be in communication with
others using this parenting model.”

follow the norms. After listening to so much “bad advise”, from well meaning people,
I am glad that I have found a method that gives me back hope.
I was at the end of my rope when Beyond Consequences sent me a life line.”
